I'm honestly not even sure what I just read.I'm not generally a huge fan of prequel's but hey, it was free on Amazon today and I picked up both of the other books in this series. I heard dark and disturbing, I was immediately sold.
I am still very confused but in an extremely intrigued way. This tiny blurb of a novella hooked me from the beginning and had me turning the pages as quickly as my eyes could read.
Basically what I get from this is:
Lilith goes on vacation with her best friend, Ashley.
They receive a warning note on the beach that says "Don't pick up the phone"
Of course, they do not listen...
Terrible things happen that land Lilith and her best friend Ashley in the psych ward.
Lilith believes this hot hunk by the name of Sebastian is her savior, hero guy...
I strongly believe HE IS NOT...
It ends with her breaking out of the psych ward, leaving her now ex-best friend behind (Ashley now hates her because Lilith cannot remember the terrible things that happened to them).
She's on a search for Sebastian, the mysterious man who visits her in the psych ward and disappears within the blink of an eye.
Is Lilith crazy or is Sebastian really her knight in shining armor?
I'm not sure but I'm cracking into Snare (Book #1) right away and going to do my best to find out.

Seek (book 0.5 / included as prologue in book 1) opens up to Lillith Carrigan in a psychiatric hospital. She has been locked up ever since her and her girlfriend came back from a vacation. Her friend in isolation due to her wrath over Lillith not clarifying events that she has no recollection of. The loss of a friendship, pressure from staff and being taunted by fellow patients she is living her worst nightmare.
Yet her horrific existence is alleviated by stolen, kinky moments with her savior Sebastian Brand, Mister Brand; Sex in her bed at night when her roommate is away, sex in the shower with staff nearby. Except no one believes her and her every attempt to prove her truthfulness and Sebastian's existence is thwarted. Is he but a fiction of her imagination?
What happened on that fateful vacation! Seek will scratch the surface of this mystery to unfold with series!
Seek is an excellent opener to the series. Told from Lillith's POV we are teased right to book 1, Snare for the continuation of Sebastian & Lillith's story.
Mysterious and cryptic plot with hints of darkness! Enigmatic hero with hints of depravity and sinister games.

I just finished Killer and loved it. Stalker is due to come out on the 16th but I am so addicted to these psychological thrillers that I decided to read this in the mean time. I was not disappointed. Lillith's (h) frame of mind throughout the book her identity and past is very disoriented. She is locked up with her ex best friend, Ashley, in a mental hospital and her biggest wish is freedom and making things right for her friend Ashley again. One thing is clear some things in life we are better off not remembering. The h witnessed something so horrifying that her only means to protect herself was to block it out and while it spared her sanity it puts a wall between her and Ashley.
Sebastian Brand makes her feel safe, comforted and desired. The only problem is she is the only one who sees him. It makes you question what is real and what is not. I loved Killer and found it dark and twisty the difference with this one was this one is more erotic. The focus is more on Mister Brand and the h erotic fantasies and struggling to move forward. It did get a bit confusing for me with the various dates because it drew my attention to the date and thinking where that placed me at in the story. Even so I still enjoyed the ride and will some day see what happens after the h gains her freedom. The love scene is hot with some dominance aspects and bondage.
I'm curious where the story will lead from this point because there is definitely more to the story that only whets your appetite with this prequel into the series. I can see why the next book is called Snare because when you finish this one that's exactly how you will feel until you read the rest. Enjoy!
